**UPDATE March 2022**

Announcement: Judo Classes Starting up Again For All Ages

The provincial government is relaxing covid restrictions and opening up sport venues for all ages. This initiative is occurring in most provinces in Canada. Judo Alberta, and Judo Canada have also initiated sports tournaments with additional venues in March and April.

In keeping with these provincial and national initiatives the Red Deer Judo club will again be offering Judo classes for all ages. We understand that health regulations have been changing often. Hence, what we are following currently will be the regulations in practice by the provincial and national sport organizations for Judo. Specifically, we request all participants be either vaccinated for covid 19 or have a negative covid rapid test within 72h of a class. The home test kits available from the provincial government through pharmacies are sufficient. Again, as regulations change the club will modify our practice requirements accordingly.

In the interests of maintaining high health standards for both students and coaches we will still be requesting that all participants follow health guidelines for safe practice, namely keeping records of their on gong health status. The guidelines are posted in the club. In addition we will keep an air hepafilter system and ventilation system operational during classes and be disinfection the practice area after each practice. We will also conduct temperature checks prior to class with a rapid check infrared screen. Students are not required to wear masks, however, they are welcome to do so if they wish. Club fees will be approximately $50 per month excluding provincial registration fees.

The class times are as follows: Starting March 7, Over 12 years of age, Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 PM until 8 PM. Also Saturday classes are usually held at 10 AM.

For students under 12 years of age classes will be starting March 8, Tuesday and Thursday between 6 PM and 7 PM.

This has been a challenging time for everyone with covid 19, particularly for sports organizations. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone again on the mats.   If you have any questions please feel free to contact sensi Al  403-352-1907  or sensi Will 403-896-6914 or sensi Brian 403-352-1286.
